The Surgery, any many other GP Practices, is experiencing telephone line faults. This is causing engaged tones or call failures. We have been assured engineers are working hard to fix, but unfortunately are unable to say when this issue will be resolved. Please ring 111 for advice or present at the reception desk. Apologies for the disruption.

Various appointments are available to book online. If you would like online access, please ask a receptionist. If you book a telephone appointment online, please ensure we have your correct phone number. Clinicians may not ring you at the specified appointment time.

Public Health England (PHE) has advised the public to ensure they have had two doses of MMR (measles, mumps & rubella) vaccine after outbreaks of measles have been confirmed across England. Anyone who is not sure if they are fully vaccinated is being advised to check with their GP practice. There have been 440 laboratory confirmed measles cases in England between 1 January 2018 and 9 May 2018. The increase in measles circulation is mainly associated with travel to and from Europe where there are large ongoing measles outbreaks.

Test Results

The Doctor or nurse will inform you at the consultation when the results are expected to be back at the surgery.

Please contact the surgery on 01642 471388 after 14:00 Monday - Friday when the surgery is less busy. Certain results (e.g. pregnancy tests) will not be given over the telephone. You will have to attend in person to maintain confidentiality. Alternatively, if you pre-arrange a personal password at the time of the consultation, results may be given over the telephone.

In some circumstances the doctor or nurse may want to discuss the results with you. In this case a receptionist will contact you to book a telephone consultation to discuss the outcome and further actions.

In order to maintain confidentiality, results will be given only to patients themselves, or to parents in the case of a child.

Please be aware that our receptionists are not clinically trained and are therefore unable to offer any advice about your test result. If you have any concerns, please book a telephone consultation with a doctor or nurse.
