Noticeboard

We have strongly considered the health and safety of patients and staff following the announcement of the relaxation of wearing face coverings and social distancing. Saltscar Surgery will continue to operate a policy where patients, staff and visitors will be required to wear a face covering and follow social distancing. The local area is currently seeing a large increase in Covid infections and considering we see well and unwell patients at the surgery, we do not feel it is safe to relax our health and safety procedures. We would appreciate your support in helping us to continue to offer safe care to all our patients and maintain the health and safety of our team. If you are visiting the practice and have no face mask, unless exempt, you will be asked to wear a mask. Patients declining to wear a face covering will be triaged on an individual basis. Many thanks for your continued support and cooperation. The Saltscar Team.

If you require a prescription please download the NHS App, or order via the practice prescription email address stccg.saltscarprescriptions@nhs.net or post your prescription slip through our letterbox. Don't enter the surgery to hand in your prescription slip.

Doctors and staff will be wearing scrubs and PPE  which will include face mask.

All Prescriptions will be sent electronically to the chemist. NOT to be collected from the surgery

New Patient Registration

If you live within our practice area you are welcome to register with us and our reception staff will be happy to guide you through the procedure. Eligibility can be quickly confirmed from your address so please provide proof by way of a recent utility bill. We also require one form of photographic ID.

The Practice covers:

  • Redcar
  • Marske & New Marske
  • Wilton, Lazenby & Yearby.

We are unable to accept patients outside of this area.

Patients wishing to join will need to complete a registration form (GMS1) and a health questionnaire which will provide useful information whilst we wait for your medical records to arrive from their previous doctor.

New patients may be offered a health check with a member of the healthcare team to ensure that any required tests are up to date and that we have an accurate note of any repeat medication they may be taking.

Once registered, patients may book appointments with the GP of their choice subject to availabilty.

New Patients Prescribing Policy

The doctors in this Practice only prescribe short courses of the following drugs in exceptional circumstances due to their addictive nature:

  • Temazepam
  • Nitrazepam
  • Lormetazepam
  • Diazepam
  • Lorazolam
  • Zopiclone
  • Zolpidem

If you wish to join the Practice and are currently taking one of more of these drugs you will be asked to consent and participate in a planned reduction programme - you will receive full support from the Practice.

Change of Name/Address

Please let us know of any changes to your name, address and any additions to your household so that our records can be kept up to date.
