Public Health England (PHE) has advised the public to ensure they have had two doses of MMR (measles, mumps & rubella) vaccine after outbreaks of measles have been confirmed across England. Anyone who is not sure if they are fully vaccinated is being advised to check with their GP practice. There have been 440 laboratory confirmed measles cases in England between 1 January 2018 and 9 May 2018. The increase in measles circulation is mainly associated with travel to and from Europe where there are large ongoing measles outbreaks.
