Public Health England (PHE) has advised the public to ensure they have had two doses of MMR (measles, mumps & rubella) vaccine after outbreaks of measles have been confirmed across England. Anyone who is not sure if they are fully vaccinated is being advised to check with their GP practice. There have been 440 laboratory confirmed measles cases in England between 1 January 2018 and 9 May 2018. The increase in measles circulation is mainly associated with travel to and from Europe where there are large ongoing measles outbreaks.

GP Net Earnings

Year End to 31 March 2018

NHS England require that the net earnings of doctors engaged in the practice is publicised, and the required disclosure is shown below.

However it should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the practice, and should not be used to form any judgement about GP earnings, nor to make any comparison with any other practice.

The average pay for GPs working in Saltscar Surgery in the last financial year was £96,227 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 3 full time GPs, 1 part time GPs and 0 locum GPs who worked in the practice for more than 6 months
